For a boutique hotelier, restaurant or other small business, the deLuxe theme is well configured to get a site up and running out of the gate.

A nice touch is the homepage, which features three highlighted areas. Those who are not a fan of the theme’s red/gold color scheme — never fear — it comes with 5 different color options.

Another very clean, minimal-looking real estate theme by Themeshift (sister theme: deCasa) best suited for a real estate agency or an individual broker.

Like deCasa, it also covers all of the basics, include property categorization and search (though by one criteria or keyword only), photo galleries for listings, and a nicely laid out listing page. The difference is probably more in aesthetic, with cleanly delineated areas for copy and so forth makes this theme appropriate for the high-end type properties, or vacation-type properties.

Other minor differences between the two are the listing level pages — in this case, deCondo includes google maps, agent information and a prominent photo. Missing on this page would be more prominent call to action.

Say you’re looking for a theme for your obscure literary publication. Or perhaps it’s a poetry site. Or something else very artsy. Voila: Press! This Wordpress theme is the one for you. The homepage showcases a lot of content while still remaining very clean and visually appealing.

Category-level pages put the focus on photos, so make sure that is important to you. One minor complaint: the styling of the comment area is a big bold for my taste, but other than that, lovely.

Through the Lens is a unique-looking photo blog or photo gallery theme for those with a more serious bent … I’d imagine a photojournalist or someone else who has a story to tell in addition to showcasing photos to really like this theme. Besides being aesthetically awesome looking, there are some unique touches, like the ability for the user to toggle between a full width or three-thumbnail view, as well as clear-as-day “prev” and “next” buttons (personal pet peeve of mine, sorry).

The individual photo pages are also quite lovely, providing enough space for commentary as well as showcasing multiple shots in one page. Very nice.

Selecta … wow, what a stunning theme. Calls to mind a more edgy version of etsy … very indie vibe. And best of all, free. This is a theme for a wordpress run video blog or perhaps even a portfolio, if your work happens to be video/clips.

It’s unclear whether you can sub the videos for photos, but I’m marking this as a photo gallery theme in case you can make it work.

Photoblog is a well-named theme, as it is best suited for a photo blog over a photo gallery or a portfolio. The reason being photos are still chronologically displayed as one would expect with a normal text-centric blog, resulting in the overall feeling of a Tumblr blog. Overall, a basic theme that puts the emphasis on photos.

AgentPress is a child theme designed for real estate agents and brokers. It features property listings while maintaining blog functionality. Nice features include breadcrumbs (links at the top, showing where you are), and logical, well-designed property listing pages. The homepage slider is also nicely designed, with a rotating slider with caption.

Cons include single-criteria search, which is pretty critical in real estate searches. Photos also seem a touch slow to load. However, in other respects this theme gets the job done.

Photoland is an image-centric theme designed to show off a portfolio … hence designed for photographers and the like. There is really only one page template in this theme – a very large photo with a film strip of thumbnails below. So, it’s pretty minimal in design, it comes with a few aesthetic niceties, like Cufon font headers (18 fonts to choose from) and theme background color choices.

The one thing I would like to see is being able to see the next photo by clicking within the photo (instead of down at the thumbnail below).

Delicious is one tasty-looking wordpress theme designed for use as a restaurant, cafe or eating establishment website. I could also see it being used as a recipe or food blog theme, since photos are prominent and post categories (and pages, for that matter) have been integrated into the top navigation.

Category and post-level pages can be rearranged to feature the sidebar on the left or the right. Overall, a good theme … but the most winning part is definitely the look. Something about the theme’s colors are so complementary …hard to pinpoint, whether the slightly faded background, or the little red ribbon-esque accents – but it all really works in terms of the aesthetic of this theme.
